Renee DeLorenzo is an award-winning journalist with a talent for examining complex issues and showcasing the extraordinary individuals who tackle them. Her expertise in storytelling and crafting meaningful narratives have resulted in numerous accolades that serve as a testament to her remarkable skill.
Ms. DeLorenzo’s passion for recognizing and elevating crucial voices in the movements she advocates for has guided her work since day one. She’s had the honor of interviewing many noteworthy personalities during her time as an intern for SUNY Old Westbury. These figures include visionary artist Yisrael K. Feldsott, investigative journalist Bill Dedman, humanitarian photographer Sook Jin Jo, and revolutionary civil rights activist Robin Rue Simmons. With impeccable direction and intent, Ms. DeLorenzo pays tribute to the powerful leaders that make progress a reality.
Renee DeLorenzo’s desire to platform individuals working towards positive change has led to her current position as a Marketing Assistant for Marquis Who’s Who. Ms. DeLorenzo primarily organizes marketing campaigns to identify prominent individuals that serve Marquis’ core mission; to promote the nation’s most distinguished professionals and all their amazing achievements. She also does research on potential candidates who possess qualities that reflect the publication’s 125-year history of recognizing individual excellence.
Ms. DeLorenzo is thrilled to start this new chapter of her life and aspires to create more content that broadcasts leading pioneers in industries that truly matter. Looking to the future, she hopes to grow her journalistic career and become a progressive figure in the field of media and communications.
Renee DeLorenzo is currently nominated for two professional awards in honor of her news piece “Robin Rue Simmons- The Road to Reparations.” The awards are presented by the Fair Media Council (FOLIO Awards) and the Society of Professional Journalists (PCLI Awards). In 2023, Ms. DeLorenzo was a recipient of a FOLIO Award in honor of her project entitled “Interview with an Artist: Feldsott.” She also holds four Media Arts Celebration Awards presented by SUNY Old Westbury for various media projects completed during her time at the college.
